Chandler Leniu signs with Cal, faxes letter of intent

Chandler Leniu is one of the top defensive players Cal will sign in the 2014 recruiting class, and he will be essential to filling out overall depth in this year’s class.

Leniu was a crucial flip for California. The Lakewood (Ca.) St. John Bosco product originally committed to Washington State in September before deciding that he wanted to take a closer look at all his options. Leniu reopened his recruitment in early January and switched to Cal a few weeks later after his visit. Leniu gave Cal a signature linebacker this year, something the Bears desperately need after a season where their linebackers struggled on the field.
