Some recruiting notes while you watch the Super Bowl. There were a bunch of recruiting commitments coming through the wire this afternoon from all our visitors. Let's take a look at each of them.

Deion Oliver, Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood offensive guard

Oliver had offers from Army, Bucknell, Yale, Columbia, Georgetown, Holy Cross, and eventually picked Cal over Old Dominion. Oliver visited Cal this weekend and secured his commitment today. It currently looks like Oliver will be a preferred walk-on for the Bears.

Patrick Laird, San Luis Obispo (Ca.) Mission Prep running back

Laird had plenty of offers from Ivy League schools but decided on a preferred walk-on spot at Cal. The 6'0, 205 pound running back had one of the greatest seasons in Central Coast history.

Laird rushed for a Central Coast record 3,117 yards this past year for Mission Prep, accounting for 36 total touchdowns and leading the Royals to their second consecutive CIF Championship Game appearance.

Here are the Hudl video highlights of Laird.

Ryan Kilander, Rancho Santa Margarita (Ca.) offensive guard

Kilander was considered by to be the best offensive lineman for Rancho Santa Margarita this season. He was named to second team All-County this past season. The 6'1, 295 pound lineman has been able to play both on the offensive and defensive lines as a guard, tackle, or nose guard.
