The no. 22/22 Golden Bears (17–7, 8–4 Pac-12) host the Arizona Wildcats (6–18, 1–11 Pac-12) in the Play4Kay Pink Game. Will the Bears' win streak over the Wildcats stretch from 14 to 15?

Pardon this interruption of your regular, excellent coverage by Nick Kranz, but Valentine's Day means date night, which means you're stuck with me instead. I'm so sorry to all of you.

Tonight, the no. 22/22 Bears will face off against the Arizona Wildcats. It's true that the Bears will be playing in front of their rabid fans. It's true that the Wildcats only have one win in conference play. It's true that Cal is coming off a record-breaking performance where Reshanda Gray scored her 1000th point and Gennifer Brandon cemented herself as number one in school history in career rebounds. It's true that Cal is riding a 14-game win streak over the Wildcats.

All of this means that Cal must stay focused and cannot afford to play lazy, sloppy basketball or take Arizona lightly. Arizona is coming off a huge upset over no. 11 ASU, the same squad that beat Cal 6859. Arizona's biggest threats in that game were their seniors Carissa Crutchfield and Erica Barnes, who scored 20 and 14 points, respectively; however, they got at least six points from every Wildcat that night, including bench players. The Bears cannot be lulled into making mistakes against this squad if they want the win, which would even out the all-time head-to-head records of our programs at 29 apiece.

So, join me on Valentine's Day (that's a first) to cheer on your team, boo cancer, and scream GO BEARS!
