Ventura (Ca.) St. Bonaventure wide receiver Lavan Alston will be taking a visit to Oregon State for the Civil War. Alston seems to be a big target of both the Golden Bears and the Beavers. Alston visited Berkeley a few weeks ago and had this to say about the Bears.
"I like how their receivers are aggressive and they give them the ball," Alston said. "They seem like an up-and-coming program. They need little tweaks here and there, but overall they seem like a good offensive program. As soon as they get the defense on board, they'll be fine."
Another receiver was offered this week in Honolulu (Hawaii) Punahou wide receiver Kanawai Noa, who could be a nice sleeper target. His only other major offers are Hawaii and Utah State. One of the most prolific receivers in Hawaii high school history has already racked up 3000 yards on offense.
Another Cal offer has gone out to an offensive lineman from Georgia, one Nick Buchanan. Tulsa, Western Kentucky, Army are the major offers at the moment, so Cal might be in a good spot if his recruitment doesn't pick up.
Cal is still mining the junior college ranks as well. One potential target is Butler C.C. defensive back Afolabi Laguda, who just received a Colorado offer. Laguda would have three years of eligibility at whatever school he ends up committing with this January. Laguda did his high schooling in Georgia.
Another one to look at is Mesa (Az.) Community JC safety Derron Williams-Brown. Brown has an offer from Hawaii, but Cal got there first.
Phoenix (Az.) Mountain Pointe offensive lineman Davis Perrott picked up a Washington State offer, which could bring the Cougars into the mix. Perrott is a huge target for Cal as the Bears try to load up on big ugly depth.
Another one to watch is Murray (Ut.) Taylorsville defensive end Mufi Hunt. Hunt knows he's visiting Cal and Washington State, and it sounds like Utah will get a visit too. Intriguing battle, especially since we'll be trying to drag someone out-of-state.

Minneapolis (Mn.) De La Salle defensive lineman Drayton Carlberg has set his commitment day for next week. Cal was in his final six, but it's expected he will commit to either Michigan State or Oregon.
Cal is also already looking toward trying to lock down the 2016 class. 2016 Carmichael (Ca.) Jesuit RB Beau Bisharat is a huge target. Brandon Huffman of Scout has more.
Cal has been recruiting Bisharat the hardest.
"I’d definitely say that Cal has been recruiting me the hardest," said Bisharat. "I’ve been to a couple of games there this year already."
Bisharat is going to be a national recruit, and already a half-dozen Pac-12 schools have shown interest or offered. He will be a HUGE recruit to watch out for down the line.
And 2016 is so far away. Let's go even further away to 2017 and check on likely five star Antioch (Ca.) RB Najee Harris! Harris already has six offers, four from Pac-12 schools including Cal.
