Instantrecap: California Golden Bears falls to Texas Longhorns 71-55 in 2K Classic Championship game

Golden Bears (and Cal fans) have more reasons to beat Texas next year (in football) after today's loss.

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

As good as the Bears looked last night, they are exposed in several ways today. Bears never had the lead in this one.

Clearly, the Bears still have more work to do and plenty of room to improve. Against a Texas Longhorns team that have several solid post options, the Golden Bears picked up plenty of fouls and allowed ill timed offensive boards. The inability to make shots, thanks in part to the Texas interior presence, and missed points left at the line are all recipe for a bad looking loss. It's not clear how tired the Bears were and how prepared (or lack there of) they are playing in the back end of a back-to-back so early in the year.

This is your instant reaction thread to discuss this game. Maybe this is the ideal result to have split the games here. The Bears know that they are good (from the win yesterday) but also will stay hungry (due to this loss).
