California Signing Day: Getting To Know Asha Thomas

BERKELEY - The 2014 women's basketball national signing window has opened, and CalBears.com will highlight each member of the 2014-15 signing class in a special "Getting To Know You" series from Wednesday to Sunday. Today's final feature is on Asha Thomas, a guard from Oakland, Calif.

Thomas, a 5-4 guard, continues Cal's stretch of players from Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland. A four-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, Thomas was an Honorable Mention All-American last season after averaging 14.6 points and 7.4 assists per game. She was an All-State selection while also earning honors from the Contra Costa Times, San Francisco Chronicle and the West Alameda County Conference where she was selected as the MVP.

Courtney Range scored 27 points and had 11 rebounds in a 84-64 victory over Pacific.

Men's Basketball

The Golden Bears routed Kennesaw State 93-59, and will move on to Madison Square Garden for the next round of the 2K Classic.

Tyrone Wallace was named the season's first Pac-12 Player of the Week, with a total of 42 points in the Golden Bears first two games against Alcorn State and Kennesaw State.

Bears in the Pros

Aaron Rodgers on Historic Run at Lambeau Field

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Aaron Rodgers isn't the sole reason the Green Bay Packers continue to dominate at home. But the star quarterback's borderline flawlessness at Lambeau Field reached historic levels in Sunday's 53-20 triumph over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Rodgers is now up to 29 touchdown passes and 322 consecutive pass attempts at home since his last interception. Both streaks date to the 2012 season and are the longest in NFL history, the latter on Sunday surpassing Tom Brady's 288 set from 2002 to 2004.

"It's about taking care of the football," Rodgers said. "We talk about it all the time with (coaches) Alex (Van Pelt) and Mike (McCarthy) and Tom (Clements). If you take care of the football, you give your team a chance to win."

With Allen Crabbe in the starting lineup, the Portland Trailblazers have gone 3-0.

Portland Trail Blazers had been calling second year swing man Allen Crabbe "Cool Breeze" since last season, and it was not until this week that most fans understood why.

Crabbe had not had nearly any meaningful minutes in his Blazers career until this week, starting three games and possibly more for an injured Nicolas Batum.

It was a surprise to many, but he seamlessly fit in the starting lineup as the Blazers went 3-0. The Blazers outscored their opponents by 20 points per 100 possessions with Crabbe on the court this past week.
