The California Golden Bears found their 12th recruit in the form of athlete Evan Rambo; Greg Biggins of Scout reported that Rambo had flipped his original commitment from the San Diego State Aztecs to Cal tonight.

Hailing from Pasadena at La Salle, the 6'3, 185 pound athlete will be recruited primarily to play defense. Rambo had been on offense as a dual-threat quarterback last week. Interestingly, according to Grant Marek of Cal Rivals, Cal had originally been recruiting Rambo as a wide receiver, but then a coach accidentally sent the Bears his defensive tape. I guess the offer came out in a hurry after that; the Bears need bodies on the defensive backline, and Rambo will join Malik Psalms as our two current defensive back commits!

Here is what Rambo said to Ryan Gorcey at Scout.

There was a strong hint that Rambo was about to switch up his commitment a few days ago.

San Diego State and Cal are the two major offers that Rambo has received up to this point, with UCLA and Washington State also showing interest.
