Cal is receiving recognition from the major college football polls again. I was not expecting this at any point this season.

Cal received six votes in the AP Poll to finish 35th overall. They received four votes in the Coaches Poll to finish 41st overall there.

With BYU and USC losing, the Bears now only have three top 25 teams remaining on the schedule: UCLA, Oregon and Stanfurd. Washington, USC and BYU are all hanging out somewhere in the jumble though, so these is hardly an easy game left on our schedule. We will miss out on Arizona State and Utah this season, and we all know how things went with Arizona. The Pac-12 had six teams ranked in the top 25 poll.

Obviously, this is only a small nice tidbit. The Top 25 is still some distance away and it'd probably take two more wins against two tough teams to land that little feat. But it's nice to get noticed every now and then.

Below are the AP & Coaches Poll along with Sagarin rankings (Cal is ranked 43rd there by the way). Enjoy how far the Furd have fallen.
