Cal needed pass rushers. They got themselves a good one in Atlanta (Ga.) Westminster defensive end Russell Ude.

The 6'3, 264 pound Ude is an instant impact player, especially on a team as much in need of defensive talent as Cal is. The Bears need pass rushers in a big way, and Ude could find himself in the two deep rotation pretty quickly given our need to get talent in all these spots.
Ude has offers from just about everywhere. He currently has some big offers from schools like Oregon, UCLA, Wisconsin, Penn State, Miami, Missouri, Washington...it goes on. You can scroll down the list, it's impressive. For those who wants the academic bona fides, Harvard, Princeton and Yale have also offered up too, so I think you can say he's a pretty good fit for Berkeley.
And the rankings? Equally impressive.
- Rivals: Four stars (5.8), 20th best strongside defensive end, 33rd best recruit in Georgia
- ESPN: Three stars (78), 43rd defensive tackle, 63rd best recruit in Georgia
- 247Sports: Three stars (88), 26th strongside defensive end, 49th best recruit in Georgia
- Scout: Three stars (76)
Here are the Ude junior tape highlights.
Yeah, he looks like a bit of a load.
Welcome to Cal Russell! GO BEARS!
