...and a bit of a surprise, to be honest.

Sherman Oaks (Calif) Notre Dame ATH Koa Farmer announced on his Instagram he has switched his commitment from #Cal to #PennState while on OV

Farmer was the first Cal commit to the class of 2014, and it's fair to wonder if the lack of defensive back coach or the hire of Kauffman might have turned him off of the Bears. Perhaps just as equal a factor here, though, might be the fact that James Franklin is just a damn good recruiter.
Losing Farmer is certainly tough, as safety is a huge position of need, and Sam Atoe was more of a stopgap solution than a long-term starter. At this stage in the game, there aren't too many safety prospects left that the Bears are publically involved with, so that need might just have to wait till next class, instead.
Good luck to him in his future at Happy Valley!
