Cal recruiting is make or break for Sonny Dykes this season. Dykes can maybe afford one more bad season, but definitely not two. These players have to get on the field and contribute immediately to offset all the losses this team has struggled with this season.
Here are updates on some of the big recruits.
Marcus Griffin, Bellevue (Wa.) defensive tackle
Griffin seemed to enjoy a solid visit to Cal this weekend, but big players are scooping in to try and get in on the action. Griffin's final two visits will take him to Notre Dame on January 24th and Mississippi State on January 31st.

Decision day will come on National Signing Day! Washington State and Arizona might be in the mix right along with Cal and the other two schools.
I Will Be Committing On Signing Day! #Feb5th

Griffin is one of those must-win battles. Cal needs to figure out who exactly will be coaching him to try and close the deal before the first week of February rolls around.
Shay Fields, Bellflower (Ca.) St. John Bosco wide receiver
Cal has already landed their big receiving recruit in Erik Brown, but are still on the look out for good wide receivers wherever they can find them. One possibility is Shay Fields, who has been with the Trojans for awhile but has been sniffing around at other schools. He officially reopened his recruitment earlier today.
I think it's about time for me to say that I have decommitted from USC for personal reasons

Koa Farmer, Sherman Oaks (Ca.) Notre Dame safety
Farmer is attracting interest from Vanderbilt (James Franklin's old school), Penn State (James Franklin's new school), and now just got a Wisconsin offer.
Just blessed to receive a offer from WISCONSIN #🏈

Farmer has been publicly quiet on his recruitment for awhile. We shall see if the Badgers mess things up.
Tre Watson, Corona (Ca.) Centennial running back
UCLA seems to be a little bit cooler on Watson now that they have Nathan Starks, but that's just opened the door for Washington to begin their pursuit.

Watson will visit Washington this weekend.
Troy Bacon, Apple Valley (Ca.) Oak Hills offensive guard
Aaand your Da Vinci Code tweet of the day.
After hearing that about Cal, I won't be taking the trip and Cal is off my list right now.

That being said, our thoughts and prayers are with Bacon for the following Tweet.
Just got the call from our doctor. My step mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer... Tough night with al this going on.

Vic Enwere, Sugar Land (Tx.) Fort Bend Austin running back
Enwere got an offer from Vanderbilt. That's cool.
#CalBears RB commit Vic Enwere (@A1_Pericoo) has picked up a #Vandy offer. Says he's still #Cal solid. #txhsfb #AnchorDown
