Thursday Night Football Open Thread

It's Thursday night. And that means football!

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Week Three of the college football season starts tonight with a handful of games. Here is the schedule of televised action (all times Pacific):

Thursday, September 12th
TCU at Texas Tech 4:30 p.m. ESPN (HD) / WatchESPN
Tulane at Louisiana Tech 4:30 p.m. FS1 (HD)
Troy at Arkansas State 4:30 p.m. ESPNU (HD) / WatchESPN
DII: Mars Hill at Shorter 4:30 p.m. (CSS / CST) (cable) / espn3
DII: Chadron State at West Texas A&M 5:00 p.m. CBSSN (HD) / ALT (HD)

The clear headliner in all of that is the TCU/Texas Tech game. TCU has lots its starting QB, Casey Pachall, to a broken arm for at least eight weeks. Will the Horned Frogs be able to keep up with the Air Raid attack? Texas Tech QB Baker Mayfield is third in the nation in passing yards, having passed for 780 yards in two games. (Some guy named Goff leads the nation. Anyone heard of him?)

Not excited about any of the college games on tap? Then maybe you can head to the NFL Network and watch the Jets and Patriots in this week's Thursday night NFL tilt, which kicks off at 5:25 pm PT.

College and pro football on the same night? Yes!

This is your open thread for all of tonight's football, college and pro. Enjoy the games!
