Zach Kline Chats with Lindsay Brauner After Practice (via Lindsay Brauner)

Thanks to TheScientist019 for transcribing!

Lindsay Brauner (LB): Hey, it's Lindsay Brauner, here with Zach Kline after Friday's practice. Zach, how did practice go today?

Zach Kline (ZK): Pretty good. We definitely have a lot of work to do. There were a lot of mistakes, a lot of balls on the ground, but I think we're gonna fix that. It's just the first day, so there's definitely some growing pains, but we should have a smooth transition.

LB: Did you feel a lot of cohesiveness out there on the field with your teammates? How do you think the team's coming together at this point?

ZK: We're really coming together. It's really gelling. I think a lot quicker than last year. I think they are really fired up, really excited to play ball. Just a few more practices and we'll really see the team start to come together.

LB: How big of a difference is there in coaching styles from this year and last year?

ZK: Practice is a lot faster and these coaches are not gonna hide when you make a mistakethey're gonna be right there, so it's definitely a big change, but it's gonna be a good one, I think. The guys are responding to it well, so overall it's really good. The guys are really liking it even though the coaches are hard on us, I think it's a lot better.

Zach Kline: Cal quarterback of the future? (via Lindsay Brauner)

LB: How are you feeling about your coaches directing you?

ZK: Really good. I definitely have a lot to learn, that's for sure. I‘ve been making some mistakes out here, but I'm gonna keep working on my off days and watch some film and hopefully improve.

LB: Do you feel a big difference particularly at your position?

ZK: Well, last year and this year, it was competitive . Coach Franklin likes to ramp it up a notch, that's for sure. It forces you to improve and forces you to get better and I think that's the best thing to do for all of us because we all have a lot of work to do, especially myself. Coming out of this practice, in the film room, Coach Franklin's gonna have a lot to say to me; it was not my best day, but we're trying to get better, so that's why we're practicing.

LB: Zach, thanks so much for joining us!

ZK: No problem.
