This was not unexpected. From the official site:
BERKELEY - California men's basketball junior All-American Allen Crabbe has elected to forego his final year of collegiate eligibility and enter the 2013 NBA Draft.
The Golden Bear painted his name throughout the school's record book while leading California to one of the winningest stretches in more than 50 years. Cal placed in the top four in the Pac-12 Conference and reached the postseason in each of Crabbe's three seasons, totaling 63 wins overall. The Bears advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2012 and 2013 and defeated UNLV in the second round earlier this spring.
"It has been a dream of mine to play at the next level for a long time and I feel deep down in my heart this is the right decision," Crabbe said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Cal and learned a lot from my coaches and teammates. I will miss a lot of people at this University both in basketball and in school. I will always be a Golden Bear at heart."
Crabbe, the 2013 Pac-12 Player of the Year by the league's coaches, completed his career 10th in school history in scoring with 1,537 points in 98 career games. His 15.7 career scoring average ranks 12th all-time at Cal. Crabbe is also among the school's all-time leaders in career three-point field goals (third, 209), career free-throw percentage (seventh, .819) and career three-point field goal percentage (T-10th, .382). He was second on the Pac-12's active career three-point field goals list through this past year.
So, how do you think this affects the 2013-2014 Cal Men's Basketball team??? Tell us your thoughts in the comments! Good luck to Crabbe in the draft and GO BEARS!
