Trey Quinn, Barbe High School WR
An extremely sought after player. He is ranked as the 39th best player overall by ESPN for 2014. His offer list is also extremely impressive, and includes the likes of SEC powers Auburn and LSU. Although Quinn doesn't stand out physically (he's about 6'1, 195), he possesses good speed and amazing ball skills. I could see him being a great fit in a variety of offenses, but would certainly be a mark key player in the Bear Raid if he were to come to Cal.
As of now, chances are low just because of the sheer amount of national interest he is garnering. Glad to see that Cal is going after him early in the process though.
Naijiel Hale, St. John Bosco High School CB
Solid cornerback who is receiving a lot of attention from the PAC-12 schools right now. He has an offer from us and seems to "warm" on Cal at this point. Although not a big player, you can see in the tape that Hale is not afraid to lay the wood. Big hitter and an overall solid tackler.
Koa Farmer, Notre Dame High School, Safety/Athlete
Farmer was one of our first commits for the 2014 class, having committed in October of last year. An athletic freak, Farmer has great size, speed, and strength. Farmer could be a viable option on both offense and defense, but I see him lining up at safety at the next level. Welcome to the Cal family, Koa.
Jalen Harvey, El Cerrito High School, WR.
A local Bay Area recruit and another early commit for the Bears. Harvey has decent size, but could stand to add a bit more to his frame--and he will once he gets to college. What stands out to me are his soft hands, highlighted by the below video. Definitely possesses the coordination and body control to be a solid next level receiver. Congrats on your commitment, Jalen.
Here are the other players the Bears are pursuing heavily at this point.
Dwight Williams, Junipero Serra, OLB
Absolute monster who looks like he start for a college team right now. Everybody and their mother is after him though.
Damien Mama, St. John Bosco, OG
True behemoth. We've featured him on GRW before. He seems to be high on Notre Dame and USC right now though; sources are predicting that he'll wind up at Southern Cal.
Peyton Newell, Hiawatha Sr. High School, DT.
A utility player on the d-line, probably could line up at a lot of different positions. Plays mean. Another guy who is getting looks from just about everywhere. He's apparently hot on South Carolina and Nebraska, too early to tell anything definite at this point though.
Dominique Booth, Pike High School (Indianapolis), WR
Extremely dynamic, well-sized receiver. The SEC is going after him heavily. 247 has him high on Tennessee, Bama, and FSU. Would be surprised if he took any West Coast schools really seriously.
T.V. Williams, Mckinney High School (TX), WR
A true burner who is very high on us. He apparently runs a 4.30 40, which is absolutely insane for a high schooler. Desean Jackson-esque, he would be a major weapon in the Bear Raid if he were to come to cal. Hopefully Dykes is able to use some of his Texas recruiting ties to get this kid.
Jeffery Mead, Union High School (OK), WR
Big body receiver (stands at around 6'5). SEC and Big 12 are going after him hard. He's high on LSU and Oklahoma as of now. OK State is also definitely in the picture. Apparently he is also interested in Cal, so looks like we actually have a chance at getting him.
Jaron Locke, Atlanta Sports Academy High School, WR.
A somewhat under the radar 5th year recruit who hasn't gotten a lot of attention from major schools. In terms of size, Locke has an ideal frame, standing at 6'3 190. Right now he is supposedly high on FIU, UCF, and Wisco. Cal is also in the picture, to what extent we can't be sure yet. Apparently his stock is on the rise, as LSU and Auburn are reportedly starting to become interested.
3-star WR Jaron Locke picking up interest from #Auburn & #LSU. Will visit Auburn's spring game this weekend. 247sports.com/Player/Jaron-L…
