Cal Softball vs. UCLA on ESPN2 Open Thread

New, 40 comments

More TV exposure for Cal Softball as they take on UCLA on ESPN2 at 8 PM PT. Can the Bears bounce back from a rare series lost last weekend to Oregon?

What: No.8/9 Cal Softball (31-6, 6-3) vs. UCLA (26-13, 3-9)

When: 8 PM PT

TV: ESPN2/ESPN3

The crazy 7 games in 9 days stretch didn't end too well for the Bears. After dispatching the Sac State 1-0 to start that run, the Bears played 3 games at Arizona, including a doubleheader, where they rode Senior ace Jolene Henderson. The Bears swept the double header before dropping the finale. The Bears then returned home last weekend to host the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks and the Bears split the doubleheader, then the Ducks took the finale 9-3. Guess who started all 3 of those games? Right, Jolene Henderson.

Bears actually defeated Saint Mary 10-1 yesterday behind the arms of Nikki Owens and Nisa Ontiveros. Much deserved rest for Jolene before this weekend's conference matchup against UCLA.

UCLA has underachieved in conference play so far. Can the Bears take advantage of their down year and get back on track?
