USC reportedly hires Steve Sarkisian as head coach, Justin Wilcox & Tosh Lupoi coming too?

The Trojans welcome back Steve Sarkisian. We don't yet have any word on what will happen to former Cal assistant coaches Kiesau, Lupoi, and Wilcox, although 247sports says it's possible Wilcox will be promoted to UW head coach.

At least we will never again have to see that silly hat-beanie combination.

The SBN Mothership is reporting that Steve Sarkisian will be named the next head coach at USC.

Earlier Monday, it was reported Sarkisian interviewed for the job -- a claim he denied. Vanderbilt's James Franklin, the Broncos' Jack Del Rio, and USC interim head coach Ed Orgeron were thought to be the leading candidates. The team reportedly has an unscheduled meeting at 2 p.m.

We'll hear plenty more in the coming weeks about Sark's assistant hires and UW's new coaching search, but 247sports mentioned an intriguing idea: Wilcox may stay at UW.

It's been also thought that the Huskies will go the direction of keeping much of their coaching staff in place, and elevating Justin Wilcox to the position of head coach, but right now there is no confirmation of that.

The coaches are out on the road recruiting, and so it's not known when an official announcement will be made by either school of Sarkisian's decision to leave the university of Washington and take the USC job.

This opens a whole host of fun questions: what happens to Fancy Clancy? Does Lupoi get promoted to defensive coordinator if Wilcox is hired? If Wilcox isn't hired by UW, what's next for him?

UPDATE: Rumors are circulating that Wilcox and Lupoi are going too.
