JUCO DB Sam Atoe commits to Cal!

Cal picks up its second commit from the College of San Mateo in one day.

Hours after his College of San Mateo teammate Trevor Kelly committed to Cal, Sam Atoe also decided to join the Golden Bears!

I remember when Atoe came out of Maria Carrillo way back in the 2011 class. Loved his athleticism and heart. BIG pickup for the Bears.

Scout and Rivals have him listed as a safety, but 247 Sports has him listed as an outside linebacker. In my supremely expert opinion, I'd guess we'll be using him at safety due to our lack of depth at that position.

Atoe also received offers from Texas Tech, Fresno State, and TCU, among others.
