The Bears will look to get their first conference win of the season after their Pac-12 opener against Utah in Salt Lake City resulted in a scoreless tie. Bears did bounce back from that match by beating University of San Francisco via a decisive 3-0 result.

Offensively, the Bears are led by Ifeoma Onumonu and her team high 16 points (7 goals and 2 assists). Behind her is Sam Witteman, who scored a hat trick in the Bears' last appearance on the Pac-12 Networks (win over St. Mary) and has 6 goals and 3 assists, and Kaitlyn Fitzpatrick with 4 goals and 4 assists. At goal for the Bears is Emily Kruger.

Arizona State is coached by Kevin Boyd, a former Cal head coach who had led the Bears to a 12 game undefeated streak back in 2000. The Sun Devils defeated USC 1-0 to open their conference play.
