Pro Bowl Open Thread

It is NOT football-less Sunday. There's the Pro Bowl! The Washington Redskins' Lorenzo Alexander is one of three Cal football alumni you can see in action.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

This is the bye week Sunday before the Super Bowl. In years past, it was a football void, with pro football fans not knowing what to do with themselves. In recent years, however, the NFL has given the fans some semblance of football on this off week before the Super Bowl. It's the Pro Bowl in Hawaii! Can you feel the excitement?

If you watch, you can see some Cal Bears in action. In fact, Cal has the most Pro Bowl players of any team in the Pac-12:

Pac-12 Conference (15)

California (5)
Aaron Rodgers
Marshawn Lynch
Tony Gonzalez
Thomas DeCoud
Lorenzo Alexander

Oregon (3)
Max Unger
Haloti Ngata
Jarius Byrd

Washington (2)
Marcel Reece
Dashon Goldson

Stanford (1)
Andrew Luck

Utah (1)
Zane Beadles

USC (1)
Clay Matthews

Arizona (1)
Rob Gronkowski

UCLA (1)
Matthew Slater

Though Cal had five chosen, you won't see all five on the field. Rodgers and Gonzalez will sit out the game due to injury. But you can still see Beast Mode, DeCoud, and Alexander.

You won't see any San Francisco 49ers or Baltimore Ravens. They're, you know....busy.

Enjoy the game.
