Late last night, whispers began swirling around Harbor City (Narbonne, Calif.) wide receiver A.J. Richardson who was rumored to be looking at other programs. This morning, it was confirmed.
A.J. Richardson is off the #Cal commit list.

As of right now, details are short on the reason for his decommitment. Whether the new staff had cooled on him, or they felt he was not cut out academically, we do not know. Regardless of the reason, best of luck to A.J at wherever he ends up - he reportedly holds five other scholarship offers, with Nevada, Duke and San Diego State among them.
As far as how this affects the '13 class, Richardson's decommitment - as unfortunate as it is - would appear to be only a minor setback. Cal brought in 5 wide receivers last year, and will be adding Drake Whitehurst in a week; there should be no shortage of pass-catchers for the Bear Raid, even after this news.
What do you think of this development? Is the wide receiving corps in decent enough shape heading into spring practice? Sound off below.
