Jeff Tedford confirmed Spencer Hagan's season was over on Saturday. Spencer's dad Scott confirmed on Twitter the full extent of Hagan's injury.

Hagan is probably available for a medical redshirt, which would preserve his junior season eligibility. He appeared in less than 30% of competition and is eligible for a hardship waiver. I imagine it'll be granted and he'll be a junior next season; the bigger issue is whether he'll be back in time for 2013. The Hagan injury sounds eerily similar to the Stefan McClure injury, and considering McClure isn't really practicing yet, I'm guessing Hagan's road will be long and treacherous back to the field.

Cal's tight end situation is now perilously thin. Richard Rodgers is hobbled. Jacob Wark had to leave the USC game with an injured foot. That leaves Cal with Harrison Wilfley and Maximo Espitia as the lone healthy TEs on the roster.

As much fun as it sounded, with the emergence of our wide receivers and the need for our running backs to get more carries, I'm guessing the tight end experiment is all but shot up for this season.
