College Football Week One: Saturday Morning and Early Afternoon Open Thread

Good morning, boys and girls. Today is a day we've been waiting for. Cal football is back! In Memorial Stadium! Woot woot!

But before the Bears kick it off against Nevada later today, there's other college football to be watched. This is your open thread for the Saturday morning games. Comment until your hearts' content right here as you watch all the morning action, including---

* Notre Dame vs. Navy in Dublin, Ireland (6:00 AM PT, CBS): Irish in Ireland. Who woulda thunk it?

* Miami (OH) at Ohio State (9:00 AM PT, BTN): Urban Meyer's debut as OSU coach

* Marshall at West Virginia (9:00 AM PT, FX): West Virginia plays its first game as a member of the Big XII.

* Ohio at Penn State (9:00 AM PT, ESPN): Does all the turmoil in Happy Valley mean an upset win for the Ohio Bobcats?

But that is not all! This is also your open thread for the early afternoon games other than the Cal game. (Don't comment here on Cal-Nevada. Believe me...we'll have a thread for that!) Among the early afternoon games of note, if you can tear yourself away from the Cal game, are....well, I don't see any. But maybe you'll disagree when you look at the schedule.

NOTE: Fellow Pac-12 northerner Oregon State will not open its season as scheduled today. The Beavers' game with Nicholls State (of Louisiana) was postponed due to Hurricane Isaac. As a result, Oregon State will open its season next week against Wisconsin.
