SAN FRANCISCO, AUGUST 9, 2012 – In a little over a year since the groundbreaking announcement was made July 27, 2011, Pac-12 Networks, the new multiplatform media home of the Pac-12 Conference, is ready to kick off its inaugural season tomorrow, Wednesday, August 15 at 6:00 PM PT, offering teams unprecedented reach and exposure to their fans across the nation. Through the innovative collection of one national network and six regional networks, Pac-12 Networks will provide more live event coverage than ever before from the nationally-acclaimed student-athletes and sport programs that have combined for a nation-leading 451 NCAA Championships.

At 6:00 PM PT Wednesday, Pac-12 Live sets the stage for viewers, offering the first glimpse of Pac-12 Networks. Co-hosts Mike Yam and Ashley Adamson unveil the impressive San Francisco studio that will be the launch-pad for all Pac-12 Networks live events and lay out the plans for the unprecedented live event coverage that showcases why the Pac-12 is "The Conference of Champions." Pac-12 Live will also be the network debut for football analysts Ronnie Lott, Rick Neuheisel, Curtis Conway and Glenn Parker who will preview the upcoming season, while contributor Summer Sanders sits down with Pac-12 standouts fresh off their performance at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Viewers will also learn the ins and outs of the six regional and one national network, as well as take a look back at the 2011 season before looking ahead to 2012.

Live Events
Live Pac-12 Conference events will be the core component of programming seen across all seven channels. The action begins Friday, August 17 at 7:00 PM PT with the 2011 NCAA women’s soccer champion Stanford Cardinal hosting Santa Clara.
Headlined by 35 live football matchups beginning Thursday, August 30, Pac-12 Networks fall event schedule is made up of over 220 telecasts featuring football, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, field hockey, men’s water polo and the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships, providing an incredible increase in television exposure compared to prior years.

Description: Catch some of the best the Pac-12 has to offer as the network replays some of the top games from the 2011 and 2012 seasons. We’ll start by counting down the top 10 games from the 2011 season, leading up to this year’s kickoff. Then, as action gets under way for the 2012 season, we’ll replay two of the best games each week.
Conference of Champions
Air date: Premieres Wednesday, August 15 at 8:00 PM PT with a new episode airing each month of the year.

Description: The Pac-12 Conference is widely known as being a champion on the field, leading all other conferences in championships with 451 titles to date. Not as widely publicized, however, are the champions in life that have graced the campuses of our schools. Conference of Champions showcases the success that current and former Pac-12 students, alumni and faculty have had both on and off the field. Each 30-minute show will feature 2-3 individuals aligned under a common theme. The August 15 series premiere focuses on a trio of the conferences number one overall NFL draft picks – Drew Bledsoe, Andrew Luck and Alex Smith.
Pac-12 Classics
Air date: Premieres Thursday, August 16 at 8:30 PM PT with regular installments featuring each Pac-12 school airing throughout the week.
Description: Sporting events live on long after the clock clicks to zero. Some games remain in the psyche. They become the thing of legend, the source of bragging rights, or the big lingering "what if…". Pac-12 Classics relives those legendary contests – some of the most memorable games in the Pac-12 illustrious history, broadcast with their original play-by-play and enhanced with new interviews and sound bites from the players, coaches and historians who lived it.
