This is the thread for those who are watching the primetime NBC coverage. We won't spoil any results for you. Between the Men's Gymnastic action, there should be again plenty of swimming (and maybe rowing). Cal athletes competed in the finals of both rowing and swimming events today.
Here is the official description:
Swimming stars Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, and Missy Franklin highlight the primetime show hosted by Bob Costas. In the 200m IM semifinal, fans will see the second clash between Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, who beat Phelps for gold at last summer’s world championships while setting the first world record of the post-technical suit era. Missy Franklin leads the U.S. team in the 4x200m freestyle relay final as the women’s team looks to reclaim this event from Australia after losing it in Beijing for the first time since it was added to the Olympic program in 1996. Other medal events include the men’s 200m breaststroke, women’s 200m butterfly, and men’s 100m freestyle. Men’s gymnastics will crown an Individual All-Around Champion tonight.
