It's no secret that Cal hosts some of the best student-athletes and coaches in the world. This summer, we profile some of the Cal men and women representing their home countries at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. Today, we look at Laurel Korholz, Assistant Coach of USA Rowing.
As a Golden Bear, Laurel Korholz was an All-Pac-10 selection in 1993 as a senior, graduating soon after with degrees in English and Political Science. A native of La Jolla, CA, she won a silver medal at the 2004 Summer Games in Athens as an athlete in the women's eight. An eleven-time member of the U.S. National Rowing Team, Korholz coached Women's Double for the U.S. at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Korholz will continue to serve USA Rowing as an Assistant Coach in London.

Coaching Highlights: Laurel Korholz joined the U.S. coaching staff in April of 2005. Korholz will assist women's head coach Tom Terhaar in the training, recruiting and organization of the U.S. Women's National Team. Her primary responsibilities include the selection and coaching of women's national team crews and camps as assigned by the head coach; assisting in the development program of female athletes; assisting in the development, implementation and budget management of the national training center camps; and assisting in the organization and implementation of domestic and international camps and competitions.
