Two games, two easy victories led by impressive displays of power. The Bears have scored 18 runs and blasted 5 no-doubter home runs to clinch the series win. Yesterday's 9-0 win saw home runs from Chadd Krist and Andrew Knapp plus another dominating outing from Matt Flemer, who has lowered his ERA to 1.92 after 8 shutout innings. They Bears look to finish the Utes off this afternoon with the same formula of excellent starting pitching and early offense.
Justin Jones is on the mound fresh off a strong if unlucky outing against Washington. He'll be facing an unknown Ute, as Utah didn't announce a Sunday starter in their weekly press release. Based purely on the stats, Kesley Kondo is the best starter available, with an ERA of 4.24, and after that they have a collection of arms with ERAs in the 6s and 7s. You'd have to think the Bears are strong favorites to earn a desperately needed sweep, but That's Why They Play The Game.
