Cal Football Spring Game Recap: Bears Win! Gold 21, Blue 20

Not going to get into too many specifics (we'll cover it more in-depth the rest of the week), but Gold ended up winning 21-20. Zach Maynard lead the two early scoring drives to put Blue up 14-3, but two James Langford field goals kept Gold within striking distance, and then C.J. Anderson and Zach Kline helped pile together two scoring drives to put Gold up 21-14. Austin Hinder then managed a pretty impressive deep heave that Stephen Anderson caught just behind the defenders and took all the way to give Blue one last chance, but the two-point conversion was knocked down by Tyre Ellison. Sources say Blue is probably still walking up the hill.

Tedford gave his thoughts on the game, and was effusive in his praise of several players, particularly Anderson, who could be right in the mix with Sofele to be the starting tailback. Also, it appears Yarnway could be moving full-time to fullback and the kicker Langford petitioning on one year transfer rules (from Cal Poly) to play immediately.
