Avinash filling in for NorCalNick.
Bad officiating. Furd seniors including Caveman having the games of their lives. Cal guards getting blown by way too many times on dribble penetration, allowing for way too many second chance opportunities. Jorge getting jobbed by bad officiating, but also pressing for most of the game and not making the best decisions with the basketball.
But mostly, turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. Can't win a Pac-12 title if you're throwing the ball out there like one of our quarterbacks playing the SC secondary. Can't win a Pac-12 title if your starting guards shoot 6-21. Can't win a Pac-12 title if you give up two offensive rebounds off missed free throws. Can't win a Pac-12 title if you miss free throws in the final minutes when you're down by only a few buckets. Can't win a Pac-12 title if you miss ten thousand layups. Can't win a Pac-12 title if your bench keeps on averaging a bucket or two a game.
We were good this year. Just not good enough.
This is your postgame thread. Vent hard, and get ready for the Pac-12 tournament. We might need to play Furd again in a week, and we sure can't play the way we did today if we want to stay on top of the bubble.
