Cal bounced back for a huge come from behind win last night behind stellar pitching from Matt Flemer and Logan Scott, and juuuust enough offense. Flemer had his 2nd excellent start of the season, going seven strong without allowing a single earned run while only putting four on base. Scott followed with three shutout innings of his own for the win as Cal's batters scratched together enough to hold on.
Vince Bruno's leadoff triple in the 10th got things started, and Chad Bunting didn't waste any time driving him in with a sacrifice fly. Cal's offense wasn't especially sharp through the first nine innings and another error allowed the lone run to score, but the Bears mostly avoided the mistakes that plagued game 1 and consequently went home with the W.
Michael Theofanopoulos should be starting today as Kyle Porter continues to work his way back from shoulder tendonitis. Tune in to the radio and enjoy some Sunday afternoon baseball while you're waiting for the basketball Bears to take the court!
