The California Golden Bears already have their "A" opponent for 2015-16 in the Texas Longhorns, so they needed a "B", and the San Diego State Aztecs were happy to oblige.
I'm not sure how I feel about playing a home-and-away. In the past we've generally tried to schedule a 2-for-1 with the mid-majors. Colorado State was a 2-for-1, and Nevada was a 2-for-1 (although technically it's an 0-for-2, am I right? nyuck nyuck nyuck). I would prefer to get an extra home game out of this, but it seems the Aztecs drew a line in the sand, particularly since they're in the...
Oh wait, San Diego State is going to the Big East?
Wait, for real? They know where the Big East is, right?
Huh. That's strange.
San Diego State is generally a good team, although it remains to be seen how their move to the Big East will impact their overall performance.
Our final game in the 2-for-1 series with Nevada will take place in 2016, which will be the second of our non-conference home games (the first being Texas).
2015 will be a bit easier, with our "C" opponent being Grambling State.
So our current schedule for those two seasons looks like
2015
Home: San Diego State, Grambling State, USC, Oregon State, Washington St, Utah
Away: Texas, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Arizona State, Stanford
2016
Home: Texas, Nevada, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Arizona State, Stanford
Away: San Diego State, USC, Oregon State, Washington State, Utah
Still have openings for 2013 and 2014. Who's interested?
