The Bears have had several big targets they've wanted to land this offseason. So far, they're acing it. Point guard Sam Singer made his commitment to Cal a short while ago.
Just committed to Cal! One of the best moments of my life. Excited to get out there. #gobears

At around 6-4/6-5 and about 175-185 pounds, Singer figures to be a combo guard in the mold of Justin Cobbs as someone who can run the offense as a point while also providing a spark offensively by creating off his own dribble. He'll fit in nicely with the talented wing class we've put together.
Singer's final six also included N.C. State, Davidson, Richmond, Furd and Harvard. As you can tell by that list, academics is a big priority. His offer list included plenty of SEC and ACC schols, as well as places like Kansas State, Penn State, and William and Mary.
Here are the video highlights.
Find out more about Cal's basketball commitments thanks to FrankCohen's posts. Frank will have a far more extensive writeup of Singer in due time.
- SF Jabari Bird, Salesian High, consensus top-25 recruit.
- SG Jordan Mathews, Santa Monica High, consensus top-150 recruit.
Cal basketball is humming along just fine this offseason. Mike Montgomery and his coaching staff is putting together a killer recruiting class that should keep the Bears building toward greater things at the Haas.
Welcome to Cal, Sam. GO BEARS!
