Cal Football Injuries: Marc Anthony, Richard Rodgers, Khairi Fortt And More

Here is your Cal vs. Washington State injury report concerning cornerback Marc Anthony, tight end Richard Rodgers, linebacker Khairi Fortt and other Golden Bears.

Probably the most important development going into Washington State is health. A few more Bears got injured last week to varying degrees, and their status for next week is uncertain.

Chief among them is the status of cornerback Marc Anthony, who will be needed to help Cal matchup against the wide receivers of Washington State.

Tedford seems to indicate it's a day-to-day situation in his press conference above. Anthony didn't come back on the field last week after getting initially shaken up. Behind Anthony and Jackson is Adrian Lee, and then not much else. Expect Cal to roll with Michael Lowe, Avery Sebastian and Josh Hill at safety, with Hill seeing some responsibilities at the nickel and Kameron Jackson seeing some time there too.

But expect Jackson to go at corner if Anthony can't go. Here's Kam's presser after being named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week.

Richard Rodgers talked about his overall health, and it appears as if he's ready to go despite not being 100%. 85 to 90% is what he's giving right now.

Obviously, we'd like to see what 100% Richard Rodgers looks like, but if Saturday is what 85-90% looks like, that'll be quite alright.

(According to Tedford, Jacob Wark also appears to be playing a bit hurt.)

No updates on the status of Aaron Tipoti (who I don't believe played last week) or Todd Barr (who got injured during the Cal vs. UCLA game). But it looks as if we'll have to wait for Khairi Fortt for one more year.

That is going to be one feisty linebacking corps in 2013.
