Cal-Presbyterian to Be Streamed Live Online...for a Price

We have some good news and we have some bad news, Cal fans.  Cal Athletics has secured a way for fans to be able to watch the Cal-Presbyterian game, but we're going to have to open up our wallets to do so.  All the necessary information is here.

Cal's home football opener against Presbyterian will be streamed live on, allowing fans who are unable to attend the game the ability to watch the contest online. Kickoff from AT&T Park is set for 2:30 p.m., and the video transmission is accessible at

The online feed will include the Cal/IMG College radio broadcast of the contest with the usual team of Joe Starkey, Troy Taylor and Todd McKim calling the action.

Fans who are current subscribers to All Access through will receive the game as part of their service. Others can watch for $7.95, which includes a one-month subscription to All Access, Cal's multimedia site that includes a variety of both free and paid content.

It's a shame that Cal charges money for this while other schools have done this in the past for free (Utah-Montana State immediately comes to mind).  I appreciate the effort they put into making this available for those of us who cannot attend the game, but I'm not going to pay $7.95 to watch Cal play one of the smallest, most obscure, and least successful teams in all of FCS football.
