The whirlwind weekend volleyball action continues as Cal volleyball finishes up its games at the Cal Molten Classic with Florida International. The game starts at 7 PM. Let's learn more about FIU:
Figuring Out FIU
• Return the starting libero and four other starters after graduating two last year
• FIU has nine returning letterwinners and five newcomers
• The Panthers went 20-11 overall in 2010, and 12-4 in the Sun Belt Conference
• FIU finished third in the SBC during the regular season and reached the SBC Tournament semis
• Eighth-year head coach Danijela Tomic is 138-51 in seven complete seasons with FIULast Time Out Versus FIU
Cal earned its first-ever win against FIU on Sept. 2, 2006 with a three-set sweep (30-22, 30-25, 30-26). The only other meeting between the two bi-coastal powerhouses occurred Aug. 25, 2007, which was also part of the Cal Molten Classic. In both cases, the wins over FIU enabled the Bears to win the tournaments in which they were playing.
So, there you go! There are a few ways to watch this game. It is being streamed for free on the Cal All-Access video page. Or you can follow their Twitter feed. Or the Gametracker.
