Number one. Number two. Cal. Furd. The title on the line. This is all you can ask for if you're a college sports fan and live and die for the rivalries.
Okay, I know it isn't the Big Game, but this is pretty much as close as you're going to get to a big-time grand stakes sporting event between our two rivals for one gigantic prize. It's not going to get any more thrilling than watching Cal play Stanford in women's water polo, that's for sure.
The Bears women's water polo team has lost four games this season. Two of them came in the form of a series sweep against the Cardinal. Cal lost last year's National Semifinal matchup with the Furd women, forcing them to settle for third place while Stanford finished second. So you can say the Bears have a lot of added motivation to end this suffering against their cross-Bay rivals.
