Cal Women's Swimming & Diving Captures Second National Championship

It was another dominant performance for the California Golden Bears in the pool, as they took the title in Austin, Texas at the NCAA Championships (see this photo from Elly Barrett of the Bears posing with their trophy). This is the second national championship for Teri McKeever's aquatic queens, who also captured top honors in 2009.

Here are our overall best finishes from the championship.

200 yard medley relay: 1st place (Cindy Tran, Caitlin Leverenz, Colleen Fotsch, Liv Jensen), 1:35.03 seconds (new American record)
100 yard butterfly: Amanda Sims, 1st place, 50.49 s (school record)
100 yard backstroke: Cindy Tran, 1st place, 51.30 s; Deborah Roth, 2nd place, 51.51 s
200 yard freestyle relay: 1st place (Hannah Wilson, Colleen Fotsch, Erica Dagg, Liv Jensen), 1:27.36 s (pool record)
50 yard freestyle: Liv Jensen, 2nd place, 21.50 s (Cal record)
400 yard medley relay: 1st place (Cindy Tran, Caitlin Leverenz, Amanda Sims, Liv Jensen), 3:28.53 s
800 yard freestyle relay: 2nd place (Hannah Wilson, Erica Dagg, Sara Isakovic, Liv Jensen), 6:58.71 s
200 yard breaststroke: Caitlin Leverenz, 3rd place, 2:06.23 s
400 yard freestyle relay: 3rd place (Hannah Wilson, Sara Isakovic, Erica Dagg, Liv Jensen), 3:12.20 s
