Vei Moala is coming to Berkeley. He made his announcement at the US Army All-American Bowl, choosing Cal over Oregon and Oregon State.

Moala is probably the most important of the recruits the California Golden Bears will land this year. Cal finally has the nose tackle they've always wanted for their 3-4 defense; checking in at 6'2", 326 pounds, Moala will certainly be in the mix to get snaps at nose tackle. Although Tosh Lupoi has always got excellent play out of his defensive line, a dominant nose tackle is what makes the 3-4 defense very difficult to deal with. Despite the incredible motor and effort that Derrick Hill has exhibited, his injuries kept him off the field from being mentioned as one of the dominant defensive tackles in the conference. Moala could be that guy.

Moala is a four star recruit and ranked 108th in the Rivals 150 (9th best defensive tackle nationwide,12th best player in California, a four star recruit and ranked 97th in the ESPN 150 (7th best defensive tackle nationwide), and one of the five star recruits by Scout, second best defensive tackle nationwide.

Welcome to Cal, Vei! GO BEARS!
