While I know all of us are happy at the way our Bears played on Thursday night against the Beavers, Saturday's matchup screams "letdown game". Cal had been working to play at that effort level for over a month running, and now that they reached that peak level of efficiency and execution, it wouldn't be surprising at all if we started hitting the wall.
Although Oregon isn't a great team by any measure, the Ducks do bring the pressure zone defense that'll be a unique look for our ball-handlers and could be very difficult to prepare for in practice. Oregon might very well be on their way to claiming Oregon State annoyance status, as they've grinded out three wins against USC, Furd and Oregon State in the past four games to knock them up a notch in the conference. Cal cannot afford to give away games at this juncture if they want to keep their postseason hopes alive. But the guards will need to be diligent in their possessions and get the ball to their big men early and often.
GO BEARS!
