Friday Night Lights

  • Richard RodgersChino Hills Huskies (Chino Hills, CA) emerged victorious over Charter Oak 29-22 [1]. Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB returned a kickoff 97 yds for the winning TD.

  • Vista Panthers (Vista, CA) bounced back against Rancho Buena Vista 35-10 [3][4][5]. Stefan McClure, CB caught 8 passes for 218 yds and 3 TDs on offense.

    McClure caught eight passes from Gallardi [Christian, Vista's QB] for 218 yards. He scored four touchdowns -- on a meandering 33-yard interception return in the first quarter, a 24-yard pass from Gallardi in the left corner of the end zone in the second quarter and receptions of 33 yards and 72 yards in the third quarter.

    But McClure felt he could play better, at least defensively.

    "On the offensive side, yeah I played well," he said. "Defensively, I didn't get it done on some plays."

    Vista coach Danny Williams, however, was plenty impressed with his senior two-way starter.

    "He's a pretty dominant kid," Williams said [6].

  • The Woodlands Highlanders (The Woodlands, TX) crushed Conroe 61-20 [7]. Daniel Lasco, RB (Cal) averaged 12 yds per carry for 195 yds and 4 TDs.
  • Serra Cavaliers (Gardena, CA) started slow but overcame Chaminade 35-21 [8][9]. Marqise Lee, ATH was dominant with 4 catches for 186 yds and 2 TDs. George Farmer, WR was tripled-covered but caught 4 passes for 80 yds and 1 TD.

  • Summit Skyhawks (Fontana, CA) lost in final 5 mins of the game to Kaiser 7-19 [11][12]. Devon Blackmon, ATH caught 2 passes for 55 yds and fumbled once.
  • Richard RodgersSt. John's Pioneers resumed their winning ways against Wachusett 42-21 [13][14], ending their run for a perfect season. Richard Rodgers, TE (Cal) caught 7 passes for 153 yds and 2 TDs.
  • Jalen JeffersonSt Bonaventure Seraphs (Ventura, CA) grinded out a victory in OT over Westlake 32-31 [15][16]. Jalen Jefferson, ATH had a key INT end of 1st half to stop Westlake's potential scoring drive 24 yds away from Seraphs' endzone.
  • Palo Verdes Panthers (Las Vegas, NV) completed its undefeated regular season, shutting out Arbor View 17-0 [17][18][19]. Brandon Wright, RB/DB carried 11 times for 96 yds and 1 TD.
  • The King's Academy Knights (San Jose, CA) stopped by Aragon (San Mateo) 35-13 [20][21]. Amir Carlisle, RB exploded for 316 yds and 4 TDs.
  • Archbishop Mitty Monarchs (San Jose, CA) narrowly defeated Bellarmine as time expired 30-27 [22]. Kyle Boehm, QB (Cal) engineered a 4th quarter TD drive as time expired. Boehm finished w/ 92 yds on 17 carries and 2 TDs. He also completed 9 of 17 passes for 140 yds.
  • Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets (Lakeside, AZ) blanked Parker 48-0 in the 1st Round Playoffs [23]. Jordan Morgan, S (Cal) scored his 100th TD of his high school career against Parker by returning a kickoff for 97 yds [24]. Morgan completed 3 of 4 passes for 84 ydd and carried 7 times for 24 yds and 2 TDs. The Yellow Jacks are the favorite to win AZ 3A Football Championship [25][26] and may get another chance to take on rival Show Low.
  • St. John Bosco Braves (Bellflower, CA) was defeated by Orange Lutheran 13-21 [27]. Bryce Treggs, WR {2012} caught 6 passes for 136 yds while scoring 1 TD.
  • Grant Union Pacers (Sacramento, CA) crushed Franklin 45-7 [28][29]. Shaq Thompson, ATH {2012} scored 4 TDs and 165 yds. Thompson thrilled the crowd both on offense and defense [30]. Viliami Moala, DT combined w/ Puka Lopa and the rest of the DLine for 7 sacks. Photo Gallery [31].
  • Valley Christian Warriors (San Jose, CA) lost its undefeated bid to St. Francis 7-14 [32][33]. Byron Marshall, RB {2012} ran 10 times for 77 yds and was contained in the 2nd half.
  • San Ramon Valley Wolves (Danville, CA) upset by Amador Valley 21-24 [34]. Zach Kline, QB (Cal) {2012} was pressured and contained in the 2nd half.
