  • Stefan McClure, CB Vista (Vista, CA) visited Colorado [16] w/ his teammate Alex Kelley. Kelley verballed to Colorado following their visit.
“I’m just going to see how their program runs, and see how their coaches interact with their players, and see how they coach them up pregame and during the game,” McClure told about his trip to Boulder. “I want to see the talent they have on the field while they’re playing the game, not just hear about it or see it on TV.” At least the Buffs appear to be in the running for McClure’s services. “Any schools I’m taking visits to are in the finals, and I’m considering them pretty hard,” said McClure.
  • Amir Carlisle, RB The King's Academy (San Jose, CA) interviewed [17]. Carlisle will be visiting Stanford, Notre Dame, Cal, and probably Maryland since his father, Duane, ran track at College Park. Carlisle has particular interest in colleges' Drama department and was especially impressed w/ USC.

Carlisle has been working on his WR skills and looks to fulfill more of a Percy Harvin role in college.

  • Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB Chino Hills (Chino Hills, CA) sprain his right shoulder last week and will be taking the week off to recover [18]. Olomu is friends w/ Rahim Cassell of Lakewood who has verballed to Oregon [19].

"I have been talking with the Oregon coaches since the summer and we have a great relationship. They came to see me during May," Walls said. "I saw them when I went to the Tennessee game a few weeks ago. I have seen their facilities online and now I want to see them in person. I like the personality of the players and coaching staff. It's going be a great game versus Stanford."
  • DeAnthony Arnett, WR Saginaw (Saginaw, MI) will hold a press conference in November to make a commitment decision [21]. Michigan State may be Arnett's eventual destination [22].

  • Cyrus KouandjioGarrett Adcock, OG Dallas Christian (Dallas, TX) {2012} may be stronger his brother Chris, a blueshirt freshman at Cal [28].
“I hold the all-time dead lift record at our school that was actually set by my brother,” said Adcock, who reports a 365-pound bench press, 605 squat, 630 dead lift and 305 power clean. “Last year I broke that this summer. I held the squat record last year until my brother broke it and I’m working right now to break the record he set.”
  • Thomas Johnson, ATH Skyline (Dallas, TX) {2012} is recruited by Cal as a WR [29]. Oklahoma is making an early impression while Texas has not made contact or a verbal offer yet. There is mutual interest between Johnson and Texas A&M.
  • Bryce Treggs, WR St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA) {2012} midseason highlights from [30].

Treggs may be the best pure route-runner in the class of 2012 in what will be a loaded class of receivers in the West.  He was the best underclass receiver we saw in Las Vegas at the Badger/New Level 7on7 and was our choice for MVP at the AIGA/Scout 7on7 Tournament in May.

But Treggs isn't just a camp all-star, he's a very gifted player on Friday nights too, and has shown why he's a member of the Scout 100 for the 2012 class, and considered one of the best playmakers in his class.

Montgomery's Crew

  • Juan Anderson, SF 6-6/200 Castro Valley (Castro Valley, CA) finished up his official visits at Arizona State. He and his cousin Jabari Brown have both visited Herb Sendek and are trying to make their decisions [$31][32][33].
  • David Kravish, PF 6-9/200 Lee's Summit North (Lee's Summit, MO) is also trying to make his decision by the end of this week [34].
