St. John's Pioneers dominated Shrewsbury 52-7 [1][2]. Richard Rodgers, TE (Cal) maded the highlight reel again w/ a 58-yd TD pass and finished the game w/ 6 catches for 108 yds.
Andreoli [Head Coach] just shook his head when asked about Rodgers’ three-move run after the catch.
“Richard’s 6-foot-4, 249 pounds and he’s got the athletic ability to make that kind of move,” Andreoli said. “A guy with that size and that speed ... I guess that’s why he’s going to be playing in the Pac-10 next year.
“I’ll tell you something about Richard. I’ve said it before and I’ll say this to death, but he practices as good as any kid I’ve ever had,” Andreoli said. “He does the little things every day in practice, whether it be stripping the ball, or scooping it and scoring, or doing the kind of stuff that he did on that play. And that’s why he does them on Saturday, because he does them in practice.“I’ve got to give him credit, because he works at those things every day and when he does that, it translates into him becoming a great player,” Andreoli said. “That’s how a good player becomes a great player – when you do those things in practice and you translate them into the game. Richard’s a gifted kid, don’t get me wrong, but he works at it every day and he really practices what he does.”

For the first time that I’ve seen him, Daniel Lasco really looked like a football player. Of course we haven’t seen him play any this year because he’s been hurt. But in the last two years, I knew he could run. He just hadn’t shown me he was that good of a football player. He showed that on Friday night. They’re a completely different team with him on the field. - Lufkin Head Coach John Outlaw
