Cal Football
- Syd and Alualu have been very impressive during Senior Bowl practice and may have even moved themselves into being first-day draft picks.
- Wilner reports on bowl revenue for Cal, Stanford, and SJSU. Cal ended up breaking even.
- Mike Mohamed shows up at 22nd on Ted Miller's top-30 Pac-10 players of the year.
- After eliminating an early deficit, men's basketball built a lead and held off wave after wave of ASU run. If Cal gets the win Sunday, it will get its first ever conference sweep of the Arizona schools in the desert. After the game Monty said Amoke was limited due to illness but gave good news about MSF, who was initially going to travel down to Tuscon for Sundays game because his back is feeling better. Because MSF hasn't practiced in a while, Monty decided that he should stay home and get healthy for next week's road trip.
- Several times Cal ran a play called "The Ghost" which helped Boykin score a career-high 25 points. In this play Boykin would be at the bottom of the key, way under the basket which kept him out of sight of ASU's zone defense. He would wait until a hole developed and emerge from hiding to catch a pass and quickly score.
- With a win Sunday, Cal will be heavily favored with run away with the conference crown.
- Alexis Gray-Lawson's obsession with Kobe Bryant has driven her to become a better, smarter player. She's been doing her best Kobe impression for the last few games. Last night's win over Arizona was no different as she put up 39 points in Cal's 73-53 win. Despite the offensive explosion, Lexi spent much of the post-game press conference talking about defense and working on screens.
