Well, Cal headed into the locker room at halftime with a 17-7 lead. The Cal offense had not done a lot, but the Cal D was doing great. MSU's only points were off of a turnover. Things were looking up. Which was good.
Because people were coming down.
This is exactly like that scene in Point Break where Keanu Reeves jumps out of the plane to catch Bodhi!
The Scarlet Knights, ladies and gents:
And thus the second half began.

This one didn't come out great:
Soon, however, the sun was setting. It is truly gorgeous in those last few moments as the sun sets over the western rim of the stadium. I am also incredibly thankful for it, insomuch as I can, yknow, see the north end of the stadium again!
It even reflects off of the scoreboard in a way that rocks.
Of course, as it gets darker it becomes more difficult to take solid photos. The flash isn't strong enough and the lens generally doesn't bring enough light in unless you have the shutter open for too long. Increasing the ISO works, but also increases noise.
TheNick was still taking some great photos, though.

Again, our section had trouble hoisting somebody up after a TD:
But had no trouble mocking the opposing team for some embarrassing event (which I can't quite remember at this moment).
I love this guy. His job appeared to be to stand there swinging that rope (Hold The Rope?) and jumping up and down. He just did that all game.
Last I said in my previous post, it can be difficult to get photos of big plays. It is often a guessing game and when a big play happens, it can be difficult to keep the camera steady. When Vereen was just starting his huge run, I thought to myself "Ok, ok, ok, keep that camera steady." Easier said that done when you are jumping up and down and screaming with wild abandon.
I got this POS photo:

Damn, did he slaughter me in the battle of photos!

I think this was celebrating one of our "Game Clinching Interceptions That Was Later Overturned."
Friend of the Blog, Bigfoot, just sent me these photos. They are of more than just the second half. But they are really good and he wanted to share them with you guys. Enjoy!
Well, some great stuff there by Bigfoot. He has one of those shmancy cameras like TheNick. Of course, when TrisWeb (who was unfortunately unable to attend the MSU game) gets out to a game, we will have a true carnival of color for you to feast your eyes on. But until then, I hope you enjoy the combined efforts of TheNick, Bigfoot and myself. If you have any photos, don't hesitate to post them up. Until then, enjoy these last few shots, and GO BEARS!
Final Score:
NEVER EVER forget:
