This game was essentially over by the first quarter. But that didn't stop the Band from putting on quite a show. They did a hip hop show that had a dance block, cheer leader dance block, complex umberalla formation, and, last BUT NOT LEAST, a Dance Off!
Dance Off. It's A Dance Off! Drum Major v. Director. Frankie Garland v. Bob. Who is the winner???????
The hip hop show was pretty good. People seemed to really dig it. Plus, it emphasized the instruments that can actually, yknow, be heard in the stands (drums and lower brass).
Dance Blox:
The drum major was undulating behind the cheerleaders in this one:
This was during the Umbrella song. People seemed to really enjoy it, even though it required minimal skill by the band. People always seem to enjoy the least complex points when the band is merely standing there. It's an umbrella!
And from BigFoot, we get a shot of the "For Bob" card stunt, ruined by those green people (not Green Man, NEVER Green Man!):

We also get CSU trying to fire itself up after a poor first half:

And now for some game action. I framed this poorly, but it is the Rams QB getting sacked on the left there:
Generally, when I attempted to get a photo of an exciting play in mid play, I am jumping up and down or people are excitedly jostling me and my framing is poor. So, this is SydGOD's punt return for a TD:
He's in the lower right there. Poor framing. But I did manage to get a better shot of the tail end:
And, of course, the post play humping:
Leading to the in stands celebratory scrum:
Some more game action:
A trail of destruction after a screen, I think:
Nothing you wanna see:
At the time, we thought it was another leg-related injury. Or had the wind knocked out of him. So, when he got up and walked off under his own power, we were all "It's OK. It'll be fine. Just take him out of the game and get him ready for ASU." There was no conception that maybe it was an injury to another body part. Triple Le Sigh!
I have no idea what is going on here, but I just LOVE all the people falling down all over the place:
The FG that was blocked:
And the ensuing scrum for the ball:
Billy Farris drops back to pass:
We also found out Worrell Williams used to hate conditioning:
This was the goal line stand where CSU scored its only points of the game. People were really upset we lost the shutout, ensuring that nobody remember the Holmoecaust anymore.
This is always nice to see:
From TrisWeb, we get a nice photo of the sun setting on March Down:

As I was leaving the stadium, the sun was setting over the North side of the field. It was a gorgeous sight. This was before I knew Jahvid Best was injured badly. This was before I knew that Tedford might be reopening the QB competition. This was before I knew about Guarnero and Davis.
I was walking back to my car after another great day of Cal football, a big blowout win, seeing all my friends. You couldn't ask for a better exclamation point.
And finally, my personal favorite:
GO BEARS!
