Could The Pac-12 Basketball Tournament Move From Staples Center? It's Possible. - SB Nation Bay Area

Avinash Kunnath of SB Nation Bay Area describes yet another not-so-fringe benefit of the Pac-10's new television agreement: broadcast rights for the Pac-12 tournament. That might be especially significant for women's basketball: the combination of early tip-offs and absurdly sparse crowds almost makes the tournament a ceremonial waste of time. That might be especially true for a team like USC this year whose Pac-10 tournament loss sealed a trip to the WNIT. One coach at the Final Four this year even said that there are some who quietly think the Pac-10 should eliminate the tournament altogether, but moving it around would also be a reasonable step forward.
