The Seattle Storm completed their training camp roster yesterday signing guards Ashley Corral, Dellena Criner and Jacqua Williams as well as centers Ashley Gayle and Lindsay Taylor. The undrafted Corral has had an intriguing college career and could be an interesting player to watch.

While University of Arizona freshman Davellyn Whyte was selected as Pac-10 Freshman of the Year, USC All Pac-10 sophomore Brianna Gilbreath was arguably the most versatile defender in the conference and all garnered All Pac-10 defensive team honors. They are bright spots not only for their programs, but for the conference as a whole.

The label "combo guard" normally has a negative connotation. While many combo guards struggle just to establish their effectiveness as scoring ball handlers, University of Southern California combo guard Ashley Corral is somewhat unique. While she is known as a scorer, she is also able to seamlessly transform into an effective distributor. She doesn't just do both well -- she manages to shift fully into one role or the other.
