In a span of a few hours, Cal has to start rebuilding their defensive back recruiting in this class.
Cal lost the commitment of defensive back Je’Quari Godfrey to USC after his official visit down to Los Angeles. Now it’s Tyriq Hardimon who has reopened his recruitment. I would guess it’d be unlikely that the Bears will be able to flip either of these secondary recruits back to Berkeley.

Cal also saw offensive lineman Casey Roddick reopen his recruitment last night. I’m a bit more hopeful that Cal can put in a good effort to regain his commitment.
Cal does have one projected defensive back prospect in early enrollee Elijah Hicks. They will likely have to rely on some of their athlete commits (Michael Onyemaobi, Jordan Genmark-Heath, Jeremiah Hawkins) to be defensive back prospects, but of course some of those prospects aren’t quite locked up either. Once Justin Wilcox has his staff locked up, they have to hit the recruiting trail fast.
