Bakersfield (Ca.) Liberty linebacker Krys Barnes was the most high profile prospect who ended up getting offered this weekend. Barnes already holds offers from powerhouse programs like Oklahoma, Nebraska, USC and LSU.

The other 2016 prospect who got a Cal offer on Saturday was Rohnert Park (Ca.) Rancho Cotate wide receiver Chris Taylor-Yamanoha. Boise State, Louisville, and Washington State were the first major programs to extend offers.

Also, 2017 Sacramento (Ca.) Inderkum athlete Josh Falo got an offer from the Bears. Colorado also offered early.

Dallas (Tx.) Skyline offensive lineman Clarence Henderson received an offer on Friday. Henderson has early offers from Arizona State, SMU, Rice and UCLA.

Lancaster (Ca.) Paraclete running back Melquise Stovall recently received an offer, with Washington, Washington State, Miami (Fl.) and Colorado having been first to set their sights on the all-purpose back.

New Orleans (La.) Holy Cross running back Tre Turner has been a popular target in the South, with Arizona, Arizona State, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Miami, Missouri and Ole Miss already offering. Cal was the latest program in the mix.

New Lenox (Ill.) Lincoln Way West offensive linemen Bryan Brokop (Nebraska, Auburn, Duke, Illinois, Syracuse) and Justin Witt (mostly MAC offers) also became early targets for the Bears.

Frisco (Tx.) Centennial cornerback Raleigh Texada has received offers from Cal, Baylor, Duke and Washington.

Bogart (Ga.) offensive tackle Robert Kraeling also has that early interest. Alabama and Tennessee recently offered, with Virginia Tech, Baylor, South Carolina also getting offers.
