Inside the Lair: Getting To Know Christina Higgins
CalBears.com: You are roommates and friends with Reshanda Gray of the women's basketball team. What's that like?
Christina Higgins: We obviously talk about sports a lot. We go to each other's games and she tells me when I mess up and I tell her when she messes up.
CB: Being a student-athlete at Cal is very demanding on your time. What do you like to do when you find spare time?
CH: I am on Netflix a lot. I like to go to movies. And sometimes I like just sitting outside.
CB: What is one thing people may not know about you?
CH: I don't like Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches. I know that's the classic American meal, but I don't like peanut butter and I don't like jelly.

Inside the Lair: One on One with Griffian Piatt
One of the big defensive plays during Cal's 31-24 win at Northwestern last Saturday was the first career interception by safety Griffin Piatt, who made his collegiate debut in that game. CalBears.com had a chance to sit down with Piatt following Wednesday's practice and reflect on that play, the win over Northwestern and some of his personal hobbies off the field.
CalBears.com: How did the play where you got your interception develop?
Griffin Piatt: That was my third play in, so I was a little anxious. I was covering No. 2 on pretty much anything vertical. He made a corner cut and I was a little late to break on it, but the quarterback lofted it up there and I had time to get under it and was able to make the play. It was definitely a good feeling and gave me confidence for the rest of the game. It happened pretty fast but I was excited.
